Purple Stock Flower: Single Petal, Strong Scent, Ladybug Attractor (Matthiola Incana).
Very hardy, beautiful smelling flower, stock is a wonderful insect attractor, particularly ladybugs. If you have aphids on other plants such as roses, planting stock in between them will help ladybugs to be disperse around the garden. Bees and ants also love stock, so it is also a great pollinator.
Single petal flower, is drought tolerant, frost hardy and is a great filler in the garden.
To germinate: Place seeds in a seed tray and keep moist covered until germinated (seedlings emerge). Once 1 inch high or so, transplant in desired location in the garden with good topsoil, soil. Water every now and then but everyday is not required. Once established, doesn't need much watering at all. After several months, plants will grow over 2 feet tall, flowering out, and producing large seed pods.
